There were trees gasping out last words of life. There were stones worn through ages, yet youthful. And I saw the Potomac below, gushing through boulders, and past fallen bridges, and across time itself.
In the same instant, time halted, but the river moved, wildly, madly in passion towards the bottom of somewhere. And birds made love to the wind, sailing. I thought of jumping, of landing...
